LAHORE Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif has said that poor country like Pakistan cannot afford pilferage of the public money. Talking to a delegation of Bar Association, District Pasrur here Thursday, the CJ said that the judiciary under the leadership of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was fully alive to the present situation of pilferage of the public money. He said that Pakistan was a poor country and could not afford pilferage of official funds. President of the Bar Kahlid Masood advocate led the delegation which also included other office-bearers and a foreign corporate lawyer presently visiting professors in some law colleges of the City. He invited attention of the Chief Justice to rampant economic crimes in the country and the CJ observed on that the judiciary under the supervision of CJP was alive to this situation. Kh Sharif also said that every body should work for the progress and prosperity of the country. The delegation on the occasion also informed the Chief Justice about the problems being faced by their bar.
