LAHORE Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has constituted a 7-member committee, headed by Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Prof Dr Shahida Hasnain, to scrutinise and verify the degrees of incumbent parliamentarians, provided by the Higher Education Commission. The other members of the committee are: Dean Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences Prof Dr Muhammad Ehsan Malik, Dean Faculty of Commerce Prof Dr Liaquat Ali, Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Zahid Karim Khan, Additional Registrar-II Ahmad Ali Chattha, Additional Controller Malik Muhammad Zaheer and Deputy Controller Muhammad Rauf Nawaz. The VC has directed the committee members to complete the verification report regarding the degrees of parliamentarians and submit the same to him by July 12 next for its onward transmission to the HEC authorities. The HEC directed the PU administration to submit the verification report of 313 degrees of the parliamentarians within 15 days. The Punjab University spokesperson told The Nation that Higher Education Commission sent some 313 degrees to the varsity, which would be returned after the authenticity is appraised.
