LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning and Development Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that target fixed in the provincial budget will be achieved at every cost. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of MPAs at his office. The minister said resources had been allocated to all areas on the basis of equality and the government had increased the budgetary allocations for the welfare and progress of South Punjab districts where additional Rs 52 billion would spent from the budget 2010-11 for the development purpose that constitutes 36 per cent the of the total core programme of development budget. The minister said the deprivation of the people of South Punjab would be eliminated. He said the present government was trying hard to provide maximum relief to the people and it was the need of hour to work on war footings to overcome the price-hike because middle class and the lower middle class were hugely affected by that. He said our government had enhanced the funds for agriculture, education, health and infrastructure sectors in the current budget and we were spending more funds on public welfare-oriented projects because the uplift of social sector was the top most priority of the government. He said present Government was fully committed to resolving problems of the people on priority basis.
