Thal in grip of worst power outages

NOOR PUR THAL -The Thal has been experiencing one of the worst bouts of power outages, spanning over 18 to 20 hours a day, with continuous loadshedding of 2 to 3 hours after every hour, which is adding to the citizens' miseries in the prevailing ongoing spell of extremely hot weather. The continuous suspension of power in the city has been causing severe problems the public, especially the senior citizens and children. Against the scheduled loadshedding, the Mepco was observing 18 to 20-hour blackouts, brining life to a standstill and causing sleepless nights, said some senior citizens. The daily-wagers have lost their jobs due the recent spell of power cuts. Outages are mainly unscheduled that caught people, disrupting social and economic activities. Every consumer is in trouble even those who afford alternative sources of UPs and generators also feel irked. People of the tehsil announced to observe a protest demonstration against the massive loadshedding in the city and its surrounding areas. According to social workers Alam Khan Chattha, advocate Raja Muhammad Ashraf, Malik Khalid Awan and Muhammad pity is that correct position seldom conveyed to people as shortfall kept fluctuating. People of Thal demand permanent solution to the energy problems.
