LAHORE - Ecogreen Chairman and environmental lawyer Akhtar H Awan has stressed the need for environment protection.
He expressed these ideas on the fourteenth day of the fourteenth annual educational session of the Ideological Summer School being jointly run at the Aiwan-i-Karkunaan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan by the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust and Pakistan Movement Workers Trust.
“The vapors and gases from vehicles and factories have disturbed the natural composition of the air we depend on for our survival. Industrial waste is contaminating the water of canals, rivers and oceans. It is also rendering the underground water unfit to drink. We must install treatment plants in the factories and use gadgets that reduce the emission of obnoxious vapors from the vehicles,” Awan added.
Global Youth Team comprised Ecogreen Chief Executive Farhan Akhtar Awan, Engr M Nawaz, Assistant Shakeela Rani, Muneeba Choudhry and Sa’adia Ashraf.
The Global Youth Team explained the significance of environment, kinds of its pollution and causes and effects thereof. Farhan Akhtar Awan observed that we must strive for maintaining the original normal composition of the air intact.
The speakers exhorted the children of the Summer School to plant as many trees as they could. A question-and-answer session was also held and the students showing outstanding performance in different activities were awarded prizes.
