ISLAMABAD - The federal government on Tuesday appointed Rizwan-ul-Haq Mehmood as new member of Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) and promoted five officers of secretariat group into grade 21.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has given approval of these promotions.

According to details, Rizwan-ul-Haq Mehmood, a retired officer of foreign ministry, joined the foreign services of Pakistan in 1979. He during his 35 years career with foreign office held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan missions abroad such as Canberra (1984-87), Muscat (1988-91), Lisbon (1991-95) and Abu Dhabi (2001-2004). He has also served as consul general of Pakistan, Jeddah (1998-2001) and Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to OIC Jeddah. He has also served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Kindom of Morocco and Spain.

The other officers who got promotions into grade 21 included Nayla Qureshi, Arshad Mehmood, Samina Hassan, Hashim Popalzai and Muhammad Naeem. All promoted officers belong to secretariat group and establishment division has also been issued the notifications in this regard.
