The district police have finalised security arrangements for the month of Ramazan, said DPO Rai Zamreerul Haq here.

He said that around 950 police personnel would be deployed in the district all the four Tehsil Jatoi, Kotaddu, Muzaffargarh and Alipur to ensure security during the holy month. The arrangements included increased security at mosques and Ramazan bazaars.

He said that police officials, security guards and volunteers would be deployed at mosques and Imambargahs. He said that security arrangements would be supervised by seven SPDOs and  21 SHOs. He said that 950 security men would perform special duty around 546 mosques, 456 Madarasas and 96 imambargahs across the district. He said that police personnel, equipped with latest weapons, would be deployed in and around mosques while Mujahid Squad personnel and the Qaumi Razakar officials would also perform duties.

He said that people entering mosques would be frisked and walk-through gates had also been installed for the purpose.

He said that he had directed the police officials to coordinate with trade unions to ensure effective security. The DPO said that a special drive against professional beggars would be launched to check their suspicions activities.
