FAISALABAD
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has approved over Rs3.9 billion budget for the financial year of 2014-15 with non-development budget worth Rs2,812 million against the income of Rs2,535 with Rs 276.616 million deficit.
The session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. Higher Education Commission Executive Director Justice Yawar Dr Mansoor Akbar Kundi, HEC Quality Assurance Adviser Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Additional Secy Agriculture Ahmad Ali, Additional Secy Livestock Khurshed Zaidi, Director Local Fund Audit Amir Saeed, Registrar Ch Muhammad Husain and other notables attended the meeting.
Treasurer Muhammad Umer Saeed presented the budget. The development budget is Rs1,089.937 million.
 From federal government, development budget stands at Rs289.937 million and from the provincial government, it is Rs 800 million.
It is the highest funds from the Punjab government for the university as compared to past years, said the vice chancellor. He added the Punjab chief minister initiatives worth Rs800 million will equip the varsity with new facilities including modern 1,000 bed hostels for girls, Bio Energy Research Institute and UAF Burewala sub campus. It will prove tangible in term of flourishing the sector, he said. He also praised the Punjab government’s another grant of 50 million dedicated for 50 foreign scholarships for the varsity.
