LAHORE: Security personnel belonging to the squad of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur misbehaved with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s sister Dr Uzma Khan in Lahore. Earlier, Dr Uzma accused that a vehicle belonging to the motorcade of Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif hit her car and that certain policemen also harassed her.
Faryal Talpur on Friday paid visit to Chaudhary Asim’s residence at Zahoor Elahi Road to pay her sympathies over the death of Asim’s mother who passed away a few weeks back.
Few hours earlier, Dr Uzma stated that security personnel deployed for the safety of a prominent personality misbehaved with her and also damaged her car. She stated that upon inquiring from the members of the very house in which the car of the very person entered, she was informed that Maryam Nawaz was paying a visit there.
While conversing with the media, Dr Uzma stated that the police misbehaved with her children exactly one year back on this very day. She added that since she did not achieve justice before, she did not know against whom she should file a complaint.
However, spokesperson of the Sharif family rejected the allegations leveled by Dr Uzma adding that Maryam Nawaz was inIslamabad when the incident occurred.
Furthermore, it was also stated that Imran Khan’s sister should learn to tell the truth instead of lying like her brother.
The spokesperson stated that Maryam Nawaz has gotten over the nerves of Dr Uzma, adding that the latter sees the former in her dreams as well.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Tallal Chaudhary stated that Dr Uzma should deny her claim if she has made a mistake and she needs to apologise if she has lied.
Tallal said that Maryam Nawaz was neither in Lahore when the incident took place nor was there any movement of a high-profile personality going on in the area, adding that Dr Uzma should have filed a complain in the police station if she was truthful.
Superintendent Police (SP) Model Town Amara Ather stated that no reports regarding VIP movement in Gulberg was received earlier neither had anyone registered any complaint in the Firdous Market or the Gulberg police station.
SP Ather said that efforts were being made by the police to retrieve the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) camera footage of the area where the incident occurred in order to get hold of the facts.
