Lailatul Qadr being observed

LAHORE: Lailatul Qadr is being observed Saturday night across the country including Lahore with religious fervour and reverence.
Majority of Islamic scholars say the night of 27 Ramazan (Lailatul Qadr) is equal to praying for 1000 months. But, according to them, Allah Almighty has not revealed the exact timings of the night and directed Muslims to find it on all odd nights of the holy month which are: 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 of Ramazan. They, however, say the night mostly falls on 27th night of Ramazan but the same time advise to search it in all odd nights too.
Special arrangements were made in the mosques of the City for the faithful who awoke all night to seek forgiveness of Allah Almighty as the holy month is going to be ended after two or three fasts. Religious scholars and prayer leaders delivered special sermons highlighting the importance of the night and month of Ramazan. The recitation of the holy Quran was completed during the night at Traveh prayer. The Imams made special prayers on completion of recitation and sweets were distributed inside and outside the Mosques. The mosques and houses were also profusely lit. The faithful arranged Milad, Zikr, Quran Khwani and religious discussion in line with the traditional practices as the night is better than 1,000 months.
Large number of Muslims visited the famous Mosques of the City including Badshahi Mosque, Data Darbar Mosque, Masjid Qadsia, Mansora Mosque, Jamia Naeemia, Jamia Ashrafiq, Minhajul Quran Mosque and other to hear the sermons of the Islamic scholars and made prays. Women awoke and prayed during the night at their homes.
Islamic scholars prayed for establishment of peace and order in Pakistan and whole world and sought mercy and kindness of Allah Almighty for whole mankind.
