Former prime minister Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif will come back to Pakistan in a week.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader consulted party leaders in this regard. Moreover, the pressure from party workers on party leadership to return back to Pakistan was also considered.
However, according to sources, a suggestion to have Maryam Nawaz return to Pakistan before Sharif himself is under consideration as well.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have decided to lead party's election campaign for upcoming polls. Former prime minister has ordered preparations for rallies in various cities across the country pertaining to party election campaign.
But, however, before returning back to Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif will meet doctors of her ailing wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, for discussing her current condition and progress and a detailed medical check-up and a computed tomography (CT) scan of Begum Kulsoom will also be carried out.
Prior to this, Maryam Nawaz had said their return depended on the condition of Begum Kulsoom, who has been on the ventilator for a few weeks now. She had explained that she would return on the first available flight as soon her ailing mother's condition improves.
Earlier, on June 7, the father-daughter duo had sought a five-day exemption from their appearance before the accountability court in the three corruption references filed by National Accountability Court (NAB) following Panama Case verdict of the Supreme Court. A week later, they left for London to meet ailing Begum Kulsoom, who is under treatment for cancer since last year.
