RAWALPINDI - Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Monday dismissed a writ petition filed by four former warrant officers of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to seek their reinstatement in the force after they were dismissed form service on corruption charges. LHC Justice Syed Asghar Haider set aside the petition of Muhammad Tahir and others, saying that no illegality was committed while terminating the services of the petitioners and they had other options available to get remedy other than invoking the jurisdiction of high court. The petitioners had moved the court through their legal counsel Haider Hussain and made Ministry of Defence and PAF chief as respondents and maintained that they had served in air force for above 25 years and were removed from services on corruption and embezzlement charges. They added that they were not given proper opportunity to defend themselves against the charges that amounts to gross violation of natural justice. Their layer maintained in the court that they were removed by an incompetent authority of deputy chief of air staff and not by the chief in violation of PAF Act 1953. The federal counsel maintained that the petitioners had been removed through a lawful order by a competent authority.
