LAHORE - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration outside the Press Club to condemn the Israeli forces brutal attack on humanitarian aid ship, Freedom Flotilla. JUI-F senior leader Maulana Mohammad Amjad Khan led the protesters, who were holding placards inscribed with writings against Israel. Addressing the participants, Maulana Amjad termed the attack as an inhuman act. He said that Israelis had flouted the international law with impunity by attacking an unarmed and peaceful convoy of ships, which was carrying relief goods for innocent Palestinians. Such actions, he said, could not suppress the freedom struggle of the Palestinians to achieve their rights to self-determination. The JUI-F leader also prayed for safety of renowned journalist Talat Hussain and his fellow journalists and civil society workers who were reportedly onboard the Flotilla. He urged the Muslim rulers to come forward to safeguard the rights and sovereignty of the Ummah. Amjad also urged the government to utilise all resources including OIC, Arab League and UNO to get release the Pakistani journalists from the Israeli hostage. Protests against Israeli aggression continues The protest demonstrations continued in the City on the second day Tuesday against the brutal attack of Israel on the Flotilla Turkish aid ship for the assistance of Palestinians in Gaza, killing innocent aid workers and capturing journalists including Talat Hussain of Pakistan. A number of rallies were staged at different places in the City. Alhamdia Students organised a protest rally outside Lahore Press Club. They were holding banners and placards carrying slogans Al Jehad Al Jehad. Islamia Student Organisation and Mustafavi Students also staged a protest demonstration opposite Lahore Press Club, which was participated by the hundreds of university and college students. Khaksar Tehrik led by Dr Sabiha Al Mashriqi staged a protest demonstration outside Press club against the Israeli aggression on the aid ship. The protestors also condemned America for patronising Israel. Sunni Tehrik also staged a protest demonstration outside Data Darbar. Tehriks convenor Maulana Abdur Rasool said that the Tehrik will stage a grand protest on Friday. Maulana Abdur Rasool urged Iran to attack on Israel.
