PARACHINAR Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kiyani has said that militants would be eliminated at all costs and more development projects would be launched for peace and prosperity in FATA. Addressing a tribal Jirga here on Tuesday, he said that tribesmen had rendered a lot of sacrifices for the sake of the country. The tribal belt would be developed on priority basis adding that a net of various development projects would be laid down in order to ensure peace and progress in these areas. The Army Chief said that more FC force would be deployed in FATA so as to provide protection to the people of the area. He asked for the submission of the feasibility report of establishing a Cadet College and Army Public School in Parachinar. He said that Kurram Agency would get its share in the budget earmarked for FATA. He asked the tribesmen to get united and pave the way for the restoration of peace in tribal areas, adding that no outsider could bring peace in the region, it would be brought and maintained with the help of local tribal people for which they should work together. The sacrifices of tribals could not be forgotten in the war against terrorism. General Ashfaq Parvez Kiyani said that the Pak Army would defend each part of the country and militancy and terrorism would soon be eliminated. Speaking on the occasion, former Senator Syed Sajjad Mian and Haji Mehmood said that tribesmen from Kurram Agency would fully back the government for the restoration of peace in the region. Earlier, Commanding Officer Frontier Corps Colonel Tauseef Akhtar briefed the Army Chief about the present situation in Kurram Agency.
