ISLAMABAD (APP) - Lawyers community has earned a good name and distinction for their profession, said Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while addressing a delegation of District Bar Association Attock on Tuesday. The delegation was headed by its President Sardar Imtiaz Khan and comprising more than 40 member and office bearers who called on the Chief Justice here. Praising the role of District Bar Association Attock in lawyers movement Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said, services of Attock Bar during the movement are beyond comparison and they left no stone unturned to restore the system. I am sure that lawyers will always stand by the rule of law and they will be more responsive to the calls of their profession as well, he added. The Chief Justice emphasised on the implementation of National Judicial Policy because it is for the national cause, to give relief to litigants to redress their grievances and resolve their disputes in reasonable time span. He emphasised that this is the national agenda, the purpose of which is, to enable general public to approach the courts for settlement of the disputes and restoration of their fundamental rights and avoid taking the law unto their own hands. He also underlined the cooperation of Bench and Bar to provide expeditious and inexpensive justice to litigants under the National Judicial Policy. The delegation informed the Chief Justice that the Attock Bar has put in all out efforts to achieve the goal of National Judicial Policy and in their district all the old cases have been decided. The delegation appreciated the efforts on part of the Chief Justice regarding the improvement in judiciary to provide justice at the doorstep of downtrodden section of society and assured full cooperation of Bar in ibis respect.
