Preparations finalised for Sher-e-Punjab Dangal

LAHORE The organising committee of the Sher-e-Punjab Dangal has put all the dices of the jigsaw at their place to hold the national-style wrestling on June 4. The event will be held at the Punjab Stadium at 4 pm. In all, 20 bouts will be held for the followers of the game. Addressing a press conference here at the National Hockey Stadium conference hall, secretary sports Saeed Nawaz informed that Shahid Pahlwan Khoaywala has been challenged by Usman Shahid Rangpuria for the main title bout in which the former will be defending his title. He said that Tari Pahlwan will meet up Rustam-e-Multan Achhi Pahlwan in the second main fight of the day while there will be about 10 small time and wrestlers grooming bouts. The sports secretary was flanked by nearly a dozen officials. The sports secretariat Punjab has lured in Bank Alfalah to sponsor the event and Hamid Mirza was present there to fulfil the duty of a corporate entity to the society. As of security arrangements, secretary sports promised foolproof arrangements as has always been promised by the technocrats and when the time comes human error reigns supreme and apart from the common people, journalists become the major victims of the security. As of the chief guest, Ijaz Gul, CM task force chairman, said that a number of MPAs, MNAs and advisors would be invited on the occasion to give away the prizes. However, the wrestlers are being given Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 in different categories as their participation fee while the sponsors has allocated one million rupees for the holding of the event and any of the amount is left over from the sponsorship money will be spent in another sports event. In the other bouts, Goga will meet Mallu, Serwar Sain vs Akki, Qasim Gujjar vs Tauseef, Shahid Jehlumi vs Umair, Hafiz Shahid vs Peeja, Mangi vs Robin, Pervaiz vs Haider, Mama vs Gunga, Tariq vs Wasim Barri, Sohail vs Aamer Hafiz, Hero vs Farid, Azhar vs Qamar, Rambo vs Ahsan, Murtaza vsAdnan, Mustafa vs Mohsin, Mir Ali vs Mushtaq, Mittu vs Shanu and Nomi vs Hamza.
