Shujaat hosts dinner to honour outgoing Chinese envoy

ISLAMABAD - PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Tuesday hosted a farewell dinner in the honour of the outgoing Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhaohui. Addressing the ceremony, Shujaat lauded the efforts of the Ambassador for strengthening the Sino-Pak ties, saying that bidding farewell to a friend like Mr Luo was a difficult task. However, he hoped that the Ambassador would embrace more success in his forthcoming assignments. Ambassador Luo has been one of the best envoys ever posted in Pakistan. Since he is scheduled to visit USA to meet her spouse, who is posted in Washington, I hope the Hollywood industry would welcome him as he looks like a hero, Shujaat added in a funny tone. PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that under the leadership of Mr Luo, the Chinese Embassy worked diligently and Pak, China relations touched new heights of glory along with developing new depths of cooperation in the field of energy, economy and education. He announced that Pak, China Institute would observe 2011 as Pak, China Friendship Year as that would also mark the completion of 60 years of the diplomatic ties between both the neighbouring countries. Addressing the audience, Ambassador Luo said, This may be my last chance to visit the residence of Chaudhry Shujaat, who is like a brother to me. Pak, China friendship is all weather companionship and would get further strengthened in the future. Though I am leaving this country, I will continue to add towards strengthening this relationship, he added. Friends never say goodbye and rather they say 'see you next time. Over the years, Shujaat and Mushahid Hussain have contributed a lot towards Pak, China friendship. Shujaat helped the release of 7 Chinese hostages and also helped in various issue which were of great interest for China, he added. He said both Mushahid and Shujaat had always extended assistance to the policies of China. Mushahid, who also head Pak, China Institute, took relief goods consignment to Chinese people who were affected in earthquake last year. We will always remember this support, he added. Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Al-Ghadir, Ambassador of Palestine Hazem Hussain Abu Shanab, envoys of the other Arab and friendly nations, members of diplomatic corps, former ambassadors, Senators, MNAs and civil society members also attended the farewell reception.
