LAHORE (PR) - Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research centre (SKMCH&RC) has organised a ceremony here the other day to mark Word No Tobacco Day and to create awareness among the masses to prevent the incidence of cancer which is on the rise due to smoking. The event was well attended by masses and the students from different schools across the country. As part of this campaign, the hospital organised a poster competition in all major educational institutions across Pakistan with the theme No Tobacco in line with World No Tobacco Day. In this regard, hospital received over 1,000 entries from more than 70 schools from Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Kharian and lslamabad. Shields and prizes were awarded to 28 students who got distinction in 3 categories. Renowned television anchor, Ayesha Sana, was the chief guest on the occasion who, in her address, praised SKMCH role in creating awareness among the masses against tobacco use.
