VEHARI - DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a monthly crime review meeting and warned the police officials against negligent behaviours while appreciating the well-doers here the other day. While addressing the police officials here at the DPO office, DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi warned the uncivilised personnel to rectify their behaviours while dealing publicly or they could leave because it was his first and foremost priority to accommodate people and tackle their problems. The DPO ordered to displace illegal bus, wagon and car stands by June 15, or take stern action to do the needful. Moreover, he also ordered to install close circuit cameras and walkthrough gates to further improve the security. Enhanced security of the courts also added to the list of the tasks assigned. Where the meeting included the distribution of appreciation certificates to some of the officials for good management on CM's arrival at Vehari a few days back, 2 sub-inspectors were also deprived of their salaries for their negligence and one show cause notice was issued for non-compliance of the court orders. Traffic DSP Raja Shahid Nazeer, DSP Saddar Circle Rao Naeem, DSP Mazhar Watto were also present in the meeting. BAA observes strike: A full day strike was observed by the Bar Association Arifwala to commemorate the grave event of burning of lawyers during the Chief Justice Restoration Movement in Karachi here. As per detail, the Bar Association Arifwala observed a full day strike and boycotted the court proceedings to express their sympathy for the lawyers who were burnt during ex-President Musharraf's tenure. The lawyers neither pleaded nor presented any case before the court the other day. Moreover, there seemed to be some trouble going on between the president and secretary of the Sahiwal Bar. Both Bar President Haji Mushtaq Daraka and Secretary Ali Raza Gillani arranged tea parties and invited District and Sessions Judge Khalil Naz to their party separately. However, the judge refused to attend both the parties. The event marked some conflict between the parties.
