Farzana demands probe into PPP workers killing

ISLAMABAD - Taking strict action of the murder of a local political worker of ruling party, allegedly by some employees of Pakistan Post, Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja has demanded thorough probe into the incident. Such type of attacks are not acceptable at any cost, I condemn it and express solidarity with the family of the deceased. Let me assure the family that killers would be nabbed soon, Farzana Raja said. The chairperson BISP, in a statement on Wednesday, asked higher authorities to look into the matter and expose those involved in this heinous crime. Investigate the matter in connection with corrupt practices of the personnel of Pakistan Post in delivery of Money Orders of bimonthly cash assistance to the registered beneficiary families of BISP, Farzana said. It is pertinent to mention here that, Mohammad Arshad, a political worker of ruling party was allegedly killed by employees of Pakistan Post when he tried to stop them from dubious distribution of the cash grants. Reports suggested that employees of the Pakistan Post, while ignoring the standard prescribed procedure of delivering the cash grants at the doorsteps of the beneficiary families as prescribed by Benazir Income Support programme, were distributing the money at an unauthorised place in connivance with vested interests.
