MIRPUR (AJK) - The incumbent ruling All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference announced its unflinching support for the PPPs candidate and the partys AJK President Ch Abdul Majeed in the scheduled June 26 AJK Legislative Assembly elections in his parent electoral constituency in Mirpur LA - II (Islamgarh Chakswari). The announcement made top Muslim Conference leader from the area and former Coordinator to AJK Prime Minister for overseas Kashmiris Raja Nijabat Hussain while addressing news conference at Kashmir Press Club here on Wednesday, reports The Nations Staffer AH Rao. PPP AJK Chief Ch Abdul Majeed was also present on the occasion besides dozens of elders of the area. Without naming the PML-N prospective candidate and former Muslim Conference leader Capt (r) Sarfraz Khan, Raja Nijabat said that those who betrayed the Muslim Conference mere for the accomplishment of their vested political interests would not be allowed nor they have right to represent the masses in the parliament. Rather such vested interest elements would be made to a defeat in the polls, he declared. Nijabat said that MC would not field any candidate in LA-II Mirpur constituency. Rather it (MC) will support the PPPs candidate Ch Abdul Majeed in the elections to make emerge victorious. Speaking on the occasion, PPP AJK Chief and leader of opposition in incumbent Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly Ch Abdul Majeed thanked the Muslim Conference leaders for extending support to him in the elections by not fielding their partys candidate in his constituency. He declared that his party awaits the landslide triumph in the scheduled June 26 AJK general elections. Majeed said that since only the PPP was the strong symbol and guarantee of the complete solidarity, integrity and federation of Pakistan, the incumbent PPP-led coalition government of Pakistan was sincerely acting upon the policy of reconciliation and reconciliation under the dynamic leadership of the partys co-chairperson and President Asif Zardari to maintain cohesion and solidarity among all sections of the society across the country. Referring to the scheduled general elections in AJK, CH Majeed said that the coming elections would be of exceptional importance in view of the existing global scenario which was seeking early peaceful settlement of the Kashmir problem.
