LAHORE Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five members of two gangs of robbers and recovered looted cash and valuables. According to a police spok-esman, investigation police of Factory Area and Ghaziabad police station have arrested five members of Irshad Hussain and Zakir Hussain Butt gangs along with their ringleaders. Police said that the arrested bandits were involved in several incidents of dacoity, street crimes, shop robbery, and car and motorcycle snatching. The police have recovered Rs 1,80,000, one motorcycle, four cell phones as well as illegal weapons from their possession. The criminals have confessed to number of cases of kidnapping for ransom, dacoity, and street crimes. Further investigations are underway. Meanwhile, the investigation police also claimed to have arrested 71 culprits of 22 criminal gangs and recovered stolen property worth millions of rupees during last 15 days of May, whereas 1,220 proclaimed offenders have also been arrested during this period.
