LAHORE :

Paddy growers have been asked to sow certified varieties to obtain maximum yield and Basmati 515 should be sown on the maximum area. Punjab Agriculture (Ext A&R) Director General Dr Muhammad Anjum Ali told APP on Saturday that growers should cultivate Super Basmati and Basmati 515 till June 20. Growers should not sow varieties including Super Fine, Kashmira, Malta, Hero and Supera because their quality was poor and farmers cannot earn profit by cultivating the, he added.

Farmers should get certified varieties of seeds from centres established by Punjab Seed Corporation (PSC) besides recommended dealers, he added.
