Four minors among 10 killed separately

At least 10 persons including four minors and a woman were killed and 18 others including 15 schoolchildren injured in separate incidents of violence and road mishaps over the past 24 hours.
According to details, in SARGODHA two persons including a minor were killed in separate mishaps here on Saturday. The firts incident occurred when Karachi-bound Millat Express train shattered a seven-year-old minor student Nouman when he was trying to cross rail track near Bajwa Colony. The deceased was resident of village 78/NB. In another accident, a speeding truck crushed a motorcyclist identified as Iftkhar Ahmed on Sargodha-Faisalabad Road. He was rushed to hospital but could not survive.
In SAHIWAL, three minor students were killed and 15 others injured in school van and truck collusion here near Chak 99/9L on Arifwala Road on Saturday.
As per detail, a van boarded by schoolchildren was on the way to Sahiwal city. When it reached near Chak 99/9L, suddenly a truck came out of a mill on the road and the speeding van rammed into it. Resultantly three children namely eight-year-old Ahmad Raza and two sisters - 11-year-old Maryum and nine-year-old Ayesha were killed on the spot while 15 others including Omer Sharif, Hussain Sharif, Rimsha, Sana and Ali Omer along with driver Shahbaz sustained critical injuries. On information, Rescue 1122 reached the spot and transported the injured children and dead bodies to DHQ Hospital Sahiwal. Following the incident, DCO Dr Sajid Mehmood Chohan reached the hospital and inquired after the injured children. He directed the DHQ Hospital MS to ensure best healthcare to children.
Similarly in MINCHINABAD, a young factory worker drowned in a local canal.
As per reports, a young factory worker drowned in Ford Wah Canal while taking bath here the other day. His body was recovered after four days near Husain Kot village, seven miles away from where he drowned. The deceased identified as 22-year-old Altaf Husain s/o Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Ghulab Shah Town, Mecleod Ganj, left his work for taking bath in nearby Ford Wah Canal.
Meanwhile, in BUREWALA, three armed accused allegedly shot dead the caretaker numberdar of Chak 44/KB. Mnazoor Hussain Jatt, Numberdar of Chak 44/KB passed away about two months ago and the Revenue Department appointed his son Muhammad Shafi as a caretaker numberdar while Mumtaz Langrial and others who were residents of the same village were also candidates of the slot. The other night, one of the accused Wali Muhammad called Muhammad Shafi for panchayat at their place where three armed accused including Muhammad Sajjad Langrial, Muhammad Mumtaz Langrial and Muhammad Shahbaz Langrial, son of Muhammad Riaz Langrial opened fire on him. Resultantly he was wounded and rushed to THQ Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Fateh Shah Police registered a case on the report of his brother Khizar Hayat Sandhu.
In another incident a speeding car crushed a mentally challenged man to death when he was standing along Lahore Road here. Muhammad Boota Ansari, a resident of Chak 259/EB reported to the police that his brother Zulfiqar Ali, a mentally challenged, was standing along Lahore Road when an unknown speeding car hit him, killing on the spot. The Saddr Police have registered a case.
In TOBA TEK SINGH, a woman committed suicide over a domestic dispute in New Plots area of Gojra on Saturday. The deceased, daughter of Yaqoob Ali, was taken to hospital when she fell unconscious but she could not survive.
In LALAMUSA, the owner of an illegal petrol shop was burnt alive when a fire broke out in his shop due to a short-circuiting here near PSO Depot Chak Purana on GT Road the other day.  As per information, Syed Kabir Shah allegedly sold adulterated petrol in his shop wherein a fire broke out due a short circuit. Consequently the fire engulfed the shop, burning him alive. Meanwhile, the TMA fire-brigade reached the spot and extinguished the fire before it could spread to the adjacent petrol pump and nearby PSO oil depot.
