General Secretary Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Attock chapter Daud Mustafai was killed and three others got serious injuries when some unknown assailants opened indiscriminate firing on them at the village Pindsultani some 70-km away from Attock.
As per details, Daud Mustafai, also a candidate for PP-19 Attock during recent elections, along with his fellows was trying to free a piece of land belonging to a poor woman from the occupation of land mafia when all of sudden some unknown assailants appeared on the scene and started indiscriminate firing on them.
As a result Daud Mustafai was killed on the spot while Abdul Rauf, brother of Mustafai, Umer Farooq and another person whose identity could not be ascertained received multiple bullets injuries. The body of Daud Mustafai after post-mortem was handed over to his relatives.
The injured shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Later residents of the village Pindsultani and nearby localities blocked the Pindi Kohat road for hours.
They shouted slogans against the inefficiency of Attock police and demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.
The Nation tried to contact DPO Attock for his comments but he was not available.
Bike-lifters gang busted: Staff Reporter from Khanewal: The district police have busted a gang of motorcycle and cellphone snatchers and recovered booty worth Rs345,000, claimed DPO Cap(r) Sajjad Hassan Manj. Addressing a press conference, the DPO said that a gang was active in and around Khanewal City, looting cash, cellphone and snatching bikes at gun point. He said the City Police SHO along with a team carried out a raid and captured the gang members.

 The police also recovered six motorcycles, cash, two cellphones, two pistols and bullets from the gang members. However, other members of the gang are still at large. The DPO claimed that SHOs of the district had been strictly directed to launch campaign eliminate criminal in the district.
