LAHORE - The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Saturday congratulated newly elected members of national and provincial assemblies and hoped that they would be utilizing their energies to put the country on the path to peace, progress and prosperity.

In a statement issued here, LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar said that completion of electoral process in the country and oath taking by new legislators has raised the stature of the country.

The LCCI president said that the country at the moment is faced with multiple internal and external challenges including an acute shortage of energy, circular debt, law & order situation, mounting external debts, declining Foreign Direct Investment, low productivity and stagnant growth rate etc.

He said that all these challenges require collective input and the business community hoped that newly elected parliamentarians would be consulting them for solution of these problems.
