Rana Sana expects ‘easy ride’

LAHORE - Former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that treasury would love the next opposition in the Punjab Assembly which is short in numbers and lacks experience.
Talking to the media at the Punjab Assembly premises on Saturday, Rana Sana said that the PML-N government would set another example of good governance and merit.  To a question, he said that the office of the assembly speaker is an important responsibility and whosoever is assigned the task, he would discharge his duties diligently. He said the nation gave a five-year mandate to Nawaz Sharif and during this time the PML-N would do its best to overcome the energy crisis and other problems.
PML-N Senator Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal said ‘his party is committed to resolve the problems but it needs time’.  He said that the PML-N government would not spare any effort to live up to people’s expectations.
The government does not have a magic wand to sort out problems overnight but it must address and solved the problems, he added.
He said that after formation of the government, president would be asked to replace governors. On PPP defeat in the general elections, he said it was the result of the corruption PPP did for five years.
PTI Parliamentary Leader and likely opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Mahmoodur Rashid said that large or small opposition does not make any difference and what matters is effectiveness of the benches.
He told the media that the small opposition would play an effective and positive role against the large treasury in the Punjab Assembly.
He said that instead of wasting time on trivialities, the opposition would raise issues of health, education, law and order and public interest. He said that he would try to make effective legislation for bringing improvement in those sectors.
