Naegleria has claimed six more lives in Karachi. The waterborne brain-eating Naegleria is transmitted through contaminated water via the nose. According to research, Naegleria has a fatality rate of more than 98 percent. Chlorination is considered to be the main cure against the spread of this dangerous disease but no attempt is being made to ward of such a deadly disease. There is huge water problem in Karachi but despite that Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and their partners in different regions are doing nothing to stop contamination. They need to maintain required chlorination level in the water or this dangerous amoeba would increase the death toll.
