NGOs under scrutiny from NAP

Quetta: The Balochistan government, under the National Action Plan, has started scrutiny of NGOs operating in the province.

Provincial Director General Social Welfare Dr. Kawar Khan talking to journalists today said that the details of NGOs of data, sources of their funds and significant information have been sought

Around 1500 NGOs are currently registered with the social welfare department, whereas only 100 NGOs are virtually functioning in the region. Moreover, 1400 NGOs are not functional.

Provincial Director said that the scrutiny of the NGOs have started under the National Action Plan. At present, only 5 NGOs have submitted their record.

Dr. Kawar Khan said that the registrations of 2 NGOs have been cancelled for inappropriate activities in the province.
