Peshawar - Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan during his day-long visit to District Haripur on Tuesday inaugurated various development projects worth billions of rupees.
The development projects including 25km long Haripur Bypass road completed at a cost of Rs4.9 billion, 34km long Lora Chowk to Kohala Bala Road Project completed with the cost of Rs2.4 billion, rehabilitation and re-modeling of Government Pilot Girls High School Haripur City completed at the cost of Rs174 million and 22km long dualisation of Hattar-Haripur Road Project which is being completed with the cost of Rs3.4 billion.
He also performed ground breaking of Khanpur to Kara-Kurram Highway Road Project which would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs479 million. Federal Minister Umar Ayub, Provincial Minister Akbar Ayub, Ex- provincial minister Yousaf Ayub and other local PTI leaders were also present on the occasin.
Talking to media persons, the Chief Minister said the government was going all-out to materialise the Prime Minister’s vision of establishing a welfare state. Sehat Card Plus, he said, was a practical step of the provincial government to this effect.
Mahmood Khan said that under the scheme all CNIC holders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could get free treatment facilities from empanelled government and private hospitals across the country. So far, he added, thousands of people had got this facility after its extension to the cent percent population of the province.
“Efforts are also underway to provide maximum facilities to the people in other social sectors and multiple steps have already been taken to this end,” he added.
The Chief Minister also announced establishment of a new medical college in district Haripur. He announced a grant of Rs5.00 million for District Bar Haripur and Rs1.5 million for Ghazi Bar Association and said that his government was committed to give relief to each and every sector of the society. Provincial government was making every possible effort to meet the aspirations of general public and all promises made to people were being fulfilled one by one.
Mahmood Khan said that development schemes of vital importance had been identified to be included in the next fiscal budget and would be completed within next two years. He said special focus was being given to boosting industrial sector of the province to provide employment opportunities to the people. He said work was in full swing on numerous industrial zones in the province.
