KASUR: Wrong policies of the PML-N government are pushing the country to the brink of disaster, former President Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf said.

In a telephonic conversation with All-Pakistan Muslim League (APML) SVP Mian Muhammad Sharif here on Tuesday, the former supremo bitterly criticized the government. He said that the country is passing through a juncture due to wrong policies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. “People’s hard earned money is being wasted in personal businesses of the rulers, who are leading a royal life whereas the citizens are moaning under the burden of foreign loans, unemployment and unavailability of basic needs of life,” he claimed. The APML chief said that his party has long term future the plans and it would change destiny of the masses and country. Pervez Musharraf also raised question over the two and a half year performance of the ruling party and said that during this period miseries of the poor masses have increased manifold. He rejected fake cases against him and said that those involved in hatching conspiracies against him would have to face disappointment as he is not worried about any threat or plot.

He expressed confidence that he would soon get rid of false cases framed against him and God willing would serve the masses and steer out the country of crises like inflation, unemployment and poverty.

MAN JAILED FOR LIFE OVER KILLING WOMAN: District and Sessions Judge Mujahid Mustaqeem Ahmed on Tuesday sentenced an accused to life in prison over killing a woman in the limits of Mustafaabad Police in 2014.

The prosecution told the court that Muhammad Naeem, a resident of Mustafabad killed his neighbour Khalida Bibi, wife of Abdul Hakeem over a minor dispute two years ago. The court sentenced life imprisonment and fined of Rs300,000 to accused Naeem following the conclusion of arguments. The fine money would be paid to the heirs of the deceased as compensation. –Staff Reporter
