ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hoped that the designated Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra will serve the cause of the people of the province, particularly the residents of FATA and those displaced due to military operation Zerb-i-Azb.

Iqbal Zafar Jhagra after his appointment as Governor KP called on the Prime Minister yesterday at Prime Minister’s House and thanked him for reposing confidence and trust in him.

Jhagra, who has resigned as senator and party’s secretary general after his nomination as Governor KP, said that he would continue the good work initiated by his predecessor for improving conditions in FATA.

Wishing him well on the assignment, the Prime Minister felicitated Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on appointment as governor KP. The Prime Minister expressed the hope and confidence that the designated governor will continue to work for the development and welfare of the people of FATA and KP.

“The government is immensely committed and resolved to bring FATA at par with rest of the country by ensuring all required measures,” he added.

Praising their matchless sacrifices, the Prime Minister said that the entire nation in general and the people of FATA in particular, deserve due recognition for their support in the war against terrorism. The Prime Minister further said that the government will ensure return of Temporarily Displaced People to their native areas with honour and respect.
