LHC hearing petition to disqualify Musharraf from heading APML

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has fixed for hearing petition seeking court orders for barring Former President General Pervez Musharraf (retired) from heading his party All Pakistan Muslim League.

A single bench of LHC headed by Justice Shahid Karim will take up the petition for preliminary hearing today.

The petitioner has taken a plea in the petition that a disqualified person cannot head his party under political parties act. The court has disqualified Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif from heading PML-N under this law.

The petitioner pleaded that Musharraf was disqualified under article 62 and 63 of the constitution from contesting election 2013.
