KARACHI - As many as three more patients of coronavirus died overnight across Sindh, lifting the death toll to 4,353 while 146 new cases emerged when 7,315 tests were conducted.
This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued on Monday. He added that three more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives in Sindh, lifting the death toll to 4,353 that constituted 1.7 percent death rate.
Shah said that 7,315 samples were tested which detected 146 cases that constituted 2 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 3,027,006 tests had been conducted against which 258,411 cases were diagnosed, of them 94 percent or 242,214 patients had recovered, including 350 overnight. The CM said that currently 11,844 patients were under treatment, of them 11,655 were in home isolation, eight at isolation centres and 348 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 315 patients was stated to be critical, including 48 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 146 new cases, 62 have been detected from Karachi, including 26 from East, 17 from Korangi, 8 from South, 7 from Central, 3 from West and 1 from Malir. Thatta has 12, Hyderabad 9, Matiari 8, Dadu 7, Sujawal 6, Tando Allahyar 5, Mirpurkhas 4, Ghotki, Larkana, Nausheroferoze, Umerkot and Jacobabad 3 each, Jamshoro, Khairpur and Kamber 2 each, Badin and Shaheed Benazirabad 1 each.
The CM urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
55 more quack clinics sealed off across Sindh
Anti-Quackery Directorate of Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has sealed off 55 more clinics run by the quacks in different districts of Sindh province.
The inspection teams of the Anti-Quackery Directorate conducted 147 field visits across Sindh against quackery outlets and sealed 55 clinics run by the quacks. A total of 4,476 Healthcare Establishments (HCEs) have been closed in Sindh so far.
Meanwhile, Directorate of Clinical Governance and Trainings conducted training of hospital representatives on Sindh Service Delivery Standards for Hospitals at SHCC head office Karachi. The hospital staffers were informed about the functions of SHCC and trained on service delivery standards. Ten representatives from five hospitals completed the trainings.
In training, it was emphasised that all hospitals must strictly comply with infection control, infectious waste management and COVID-19 protocols. Similarly, another training session was conducted for Hakeems and clinics on relevant service delivery standards. Seventeen general practitioners from district East attended the session for clinics and 10 Hakeems attended the session for Tibb-e-Unani.
