Pakistan senior hockey team leaves for Malaysia on 5th

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - The 18-member Pakistan senior hockey team, led by deep defender Zeeshan Ashraf, will leave for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 5 (Monday) from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore with flight EY/248 at 2145hrs. The team, accompanied by five officials, is taking part in the Azlan Shah Hockey Cup to be staged at Ipoh from May 8 to 18 wherein besides host Malaysia, other Olympic qualifiers Canada, Belgium, New Zealand are participating along with Argentina and India. After completion of this 7-Nation Tournament, Pakistan will embark on their European odessay, with matches in Germany, France and Belgium from May 19 for an extensive preparatory tour in connection with the Olympic Games at Beijing, China in the coming August. In the final leg of the tour, Pakistan will take part in the 4-Nation Hockey Tournament to be held at Dublin, Ireland from June 11 to 15.
