Ayesha's trendy clothes exhibition attracts visitors

ISLAMABAD-A good number of the residents of the twin cities turned up on the opening day (Friday) of the two-day exhibition of summer clothes designed by noted fashion designer Ayesha Shiraz at Khiva. Nagina Fazeel wife of Islamabad Chief Commissioner Fazeel Asghar inaugurated the exhibition. Ayesha Shiraz has recently returned from the United States after running a series of clothing exhibitions. Though she stepped in this field a couple of years before yet she has earned her own identity. Ayesha is designing everyday wear for the fashion lovers without compromising Pakistans own culture and traditions. While talking to TheNation, she refused to be a blind imitator of the west and strongly believes that we must turn to our own heritage. We must come back to our mother, who alone can help us recover from our ailments that have been aggravated through treatment by alien hands. I just really believe that right clothing and colour can make you feel better about yourself and give you more confidence, she said while talking to TheNation on Thursday. We all like to be surrounded by beautiful things so why wouldnt we want our clothing to be beautiful as well, she asked. APP adds-Eminent personalities were present on the occasion. Shiraz Uppal was one of them. Nagina Fazeel speaking on the occasion said the exhibition was unique in the sense that all the clothes had Asian and Pakistani touch. In this era of westrenisation, this is special that despite the western cultural onslaught, Ayesha has inculcated the Asian flavour in her stylish outfits. This also suits our society and culture, she added. Ayesha Shiraz said she had recently returned from the United States after having a series of clothing exhibitions there. I stepped in this field a some years back but I have earned my own identity. I am focusing on designing everyday wear for the fashion lovers without compromising over our own culture and traditions. We must come back to our Mother Nature, who alone can help us recover from our ailments that have been aggravated through treatment by alien hands, she said. Ayesha said, Being a fashion designer, I have rapidly become one of the most sought after designers but it is challenging, competitive and a cut-throat business. A lot of people dont really realise how much go into being a successful fashion designer. Pakistani designers have made a mark in the international market, she said.
