ISLAMABAD - A man committed suicide after killing his wife and two daughters here at sector I-10 on Wednesday. However, 14-year-old teenager, somehow, managed to escape wrath of his father.

According to police, Afzal Raza, resident of I-10, shot his two college-going daughters and wife before killing himself. The deceased were identified as Nomi Raza (wife), Fatima Raza and Yusra Raza (daughters). Ahmed Raza, the deceased's teen son, informed the police about the gruesome incident.

A police spokesperson believes poverty could have prompted the head of family to kill his wife and daughters before killing himself. According to police reports, no suicide note has yet been recovered. They said that all the victims were shot in the head.

Ahmad Raza, the son of the suspect said that he was asked to leave the room by his father as he wanted to talk to his daughters and wife alone. Raza said that he left after he was asked.

"As soon as I left the house, it was indiscriminate firing inside that prompted me to return back. I found my mother, father and sisters lying in a pool of blood," Raza told the police.

Separately, a student and a woman were killed in accidents while unknown robbers injured two men during a dacoity bid, informed police and Rescue 1122 on Wednesday.

According to police, a young student namely Junaid Yaqub, was going on his motorcycles when he had the accident. In the second tragic incident, Rozina Bibi, 52, died after hitting with train at Dhoke Chiragdin Intersection. Rescue 1122 shifted the dead body to hospital.

Two unknown dacoits opened fire on two motorcyclists and injured them during a failed dacoity bid at Kohinor Mill area. Two men namely Abdul Moez and Zahid were going somewhere on their motorcycles when two robbers intercepted them and tried to snatch their bike. Upon resistance, dacoits opened fire on them and injured them.

inquest on as Lahore woman dies mysteriously

An inquest began on Wednesday after a mother-of-three died mysteriously on Wednesday, the Ghazi Abad police said.

The police quoted her family as saying that 25-year-old was killed by her husband Muhammad Arshad because the couple used to clash over minor issues. However, Arshad said she committed suicide. Police sent the body for autopsy after which further investigation would be carried out.
