LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has vowed to protect workers’ rights and better employers-employees relationships.

“We will make sure that labourers have access to justice at every forum while their wages will gradually be raised to Rs 15,000 a month,” he told party workers on Wednesday. He said the role played by the working class for the progress of the country could never be ignored.

Nawaz added that after coming to power, his government would make it necessary for factory owners to adopt safety measures to avert Baldia factory fire. “A commission consisting of representatives of employers and workers will be formed and tasked with devising a mechanism to enhance industrial production of the country,” the former prime minister said.
