ISLAMABAD- Defending champion Murad Ali retained his title in the All Pakistan Invitational Ranking Badminton Tournament after defeating Rizwan Azam in the final Wednesday. Murad won the first game 21-13 and maintained same pace in the second game winning in by 21-11. It was single-sided affair unexpectedly as the defending champion did not allow his opponent to settle on the court and won the final. In the women's single final, Palwasha Bashir outclassed Sidra Hameed 2-0. In the first game, both the ladies worked hard and played beautiful strokes and classic drop shorts. However, Palwasha finished the game at 22-20. Later, in the second game, Palwasha closed the chapter of her rival at 21-11 to lift the title. Pakistan Badminton Federation Senior Vice President Ghulam Sarwar Sindu distributed prizes among the players. –Staff reporter
