LAHORE  - The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched pilot project of introducing interactive classroom technology in 25 selected schools in Lahore and other districts. These schools are attached under Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) with the foundation. 
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony was held at a local hotel with MD-PEF Dr Aneela Salman in the chair. The MOU was signed by PEF Director (CPDP) Bushra Saeed Khan and CEO of Social Engineering Consultants (SEC) Sonia Saleem on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under the pilot project , SEC will provide computerized electronic boards and multimedia projectors free of cost to EVS partners to teach their students through latest IT based equipment. Addressing the ceremony, MD-PEF Dr. Aneela Salman said that introduction of this 21st century classroom technology is part of PEF’s commitment to arrange best education for its students who mostly belong to under-privileged communities.
She told that a technologically-equipped multipurpose classroom ensures active engagement of students and teachers in the learning process. Focused attention and delivery of visually exciting lessons with a range of interactive white boards and projectors will motivate the students to get involved in their studies. Technology uѕеd in the classroom helps students to absorb the educational material, she added. It will, thus, enhance learning outcomes and improve intellectual ken of the students and this will later benefit the whole society.
She told that after the completion of one year pilot project , the option of arranging soft loans for interested partner schools to introduce this technology in their schools will also be considered.
CEO of Social Engineering Consultants, Ms. Sonia Saleem also spoke on the occasion while Program Manager Tayab Jan gave a presentation to the partner school principals. Various PEF program directors besides 25 EVS partner school principals also attended the ceremony.
Earlier, PEF Director (CPDP) Bushra Saeed Khan presented address of welcome gave a detail of pilot project .
