PESHAWAR - Another leading Afghan national Prof Abdul Haq Danishmal was kidnapped by some unknown persons from Jamrud area of Khyber Agency, his close relatives informed on Saturday. According to his relatives, Prof Abdul Haq Danishmal was on his way from Jalalabad to Peshawar, when some unknown persons kidnapped him from Jamrud. Prof Danishmal is a prominent Afghan intellectual and Vice Chancellor of Aryana University, a leading educational institution for the Afghan nationals. Prof Danishmal is the second high-profile Afghan national who has been kidnapped during the last two days. On Friday, Ziaul Haq, brother of Afghan Finance Minister, was kidnapped by some unknown armed persons from Hayatabad. Earlier, Afghanistan's Ambassador-designate Haji Abdul Khaliq Farahi was kidnapped in September last. Some weeks ago, prominent Afghan persons, including traders, were also kidnapped. It is alarming that the kidnapping of Afghan nationals is on the rise in the area. APP adds: Some unknown accused in two different incidents kidnapped six persons including two levy personnel in Ghiljo area of Orakzai Agency on Saturday. According to political administration of Orakzai Agency, in the first incident some armed men intercepted a vehicle and picked up a son and grandson of tribal chief Malik Mehrban Khan and their two bodyguards of levy force Raees and Wazir. In the other incident, kidnappers made hostage Malik Haji Nazir and Malik Saeed at gun point. Political administration of the agency has accelerated its efforts for the safe recovery of the kidnapped tribesmen.
