With reference to recent news that the government is considering payment of pension by ATM and Smart Cards, along with the existing procedure of pension payment, I would also like to request the government to provide the holders of NSS (National Savings Schemes) to be able to access these accounts through the ATM and Smart Cards (which can be paid via entire ATM network of all the scheduled banks across Pakistan on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week basis) along with the existing procedure. This will end the ordeal of the investors, who are generally aged and retired, and have to wait for hours to get the payment/profit for their ‘Behbood’ certificates, Regular Income Certificates, Special Savings Certificates, Pensioner’s Benefit Accounts through normal procedure and sometimes they have to travel a long distance to reach the nearest NSS centre.
