Lahore-Oye Hoye, Carlton Tower and Sherwood (Fresher) started their Fresher Juice Polo Cup 2016 campaign with winning notes here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Tuesday.
LPC president Irfan Ali Hyder, executive committee members Azam Hayat Noon and Saqib Khan Khakwani and secretary Col (R) Shoaib Aftab were present on the occasion and witnessed the matches with greater interest.
The first match of the day was contested between Oye Hoye and Rijas and after a tough battle, the former registered an impressive 8-6 victory against the latter. Saqib Khan Khakwani was hero of the day as he amused the spectators with his sterling polo skills and expertise. He remained top scorer with his superb six goals while rest of the two goals came from Usman Malik.
The second match saw Carlton Tower outpacing Terra Energy by 9 goals to 5. Adnan Jalil was also in sublime form and played not only impressive polo but also hammered splendid six goals. For the losing side, Farasat Ali Chatha chipped in with two goals.
Sherwood (Fresher) outlasted Qatalpur by 9-3 in the third and last match of the day. Hissam Ali Hyder pumped in four goals for the winning side while Ch Hassan Mansoor slammed all the three goals for the losing side.
Today (Wednesday), Diamond Paints will take on Dascon Construction in the first match to be played at 1:15pm, Learning Alliance will play against Barry’s in the second match at 2:15pm while in the third and last match of the day, Black Horse Paints will face Pebble Breakers challenge at 3:15pm.
