KHANEWAL-The “hammer group”, had been active in Jahanian, was busted by the police here the other day.
According to DPO Zahid Nawaz Marat, a man was hammered to death on October 15. The incident panicked residents of the area. They were afraid of the rumours being spread by people relating to the “hammer group” activities. A team was formed under supervision of the Jahanian deputy superintendent of police. The team members were provided with requisite funds and equipment. The team busted the group within 10 days and recovered the tool used in murder. It was a two-member gang consisting of Badiuz Zaman and Afzal. They killed the man for money to buy drugs.
