A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar on Friday has formed a joint investigation (JIT) team to collect information about assets and properties of Minister for Science and Technology Azam Khan Swati.
The JIT was constituted during the hearing of IGP Jan Mohammad transfer case by the apex court in Islamabad today.
IGP was transferred on October 27 after he allegedly refused to take action on a complaint filed by federal minister's son regarding a fight with a family at their farmhouse.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Azam Swati, the affected family, the attorney general and Islamabad IGP appeared before the court in today's hearing.
The CJP ordered to form a JIT to find out whether Azam Swati was involved in the transfer of IGP or not.
"The JIT will also probe into Swati's assets," the bench stated. "It will also inquire whether Swati can travel to the United States or not," the bench further said.
The JIT will be headed by DG National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi Irfan Mangi and will include Intelligence Bureau (IB) official Ahmed Rizwan and Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Mirvais Niaz.
The court has directed the JIT to submit its report within two weeks.
