| Says it will be difficult for next government to rebuild economy: Claims PPP, ANP backing PML-N in Parliament: Govt introduced new NAB Ord to give itself NRO
DERA GHAZI KHAN - PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif Monday said that it not the right time to move a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan. Addressing a press conference in Dera Ghazi Khan, Shehbaz Sharif vowed that opposition will give a tough time to government in coming days.
Criticising the PTI-led government, the PML-N president said that rulers had failed to fulfil their promises made with the masses during the election campaign and brought the country to the verge of economic disaster. Slamming the government's economic policies, he said that it will be difficult for next government to rebuild the economy. The PML-N leader said that government had spared no efforts to push opposition to the wall. He claimed that government had introduced a new NAB ordinance to give itself NRO.
PPP and ANP were backing the PML-N in the parliament, claimed Shehbaz Sharif. The PML-N president when asked whether the PPP once again could become part of the PDM, he said that PPP fully supported other opposition parties in the Parliament and reconciliation was always possible in politics.
Shehbaz, however, said that PDM would decide on the matter of PPP’s entry into the alliance. He predicted that coming days would be hard for the rulers. Shehbaz said that PML-N was the only political party that worked day and night for development, progress and prosperity of South Punjab and if given a chance it would do even more.
He said that PML-N had worked to solve all problems including healthcare, education and clean drinking water. He said this was a major issue especially for Dera Ghazi Khan. He said the PML-N had started ‘Saaf Pani’ project from South Punjab for this reason and had planned to expand it to Central Punjab and Northern Punjab later, and it was the biggest project in history of Punjab for which all preparations including tenders had been made. But unfortunately there was a gap of Rs 70 billion between original estimates and the tenders. On investigation it was revealed that there was a mega fraud in this regard which was why he opted to cancel that tender to save public money worth Rs 70 billion. However, he said that PML-N had not given up and before end of PML-N tenure in 2018, it had started the Saaf Pani project in Dera Ghazi Khan.
He said clean drinking water was the basis for a healthy and productive society. Shehbaz said PML-N laid a network of hospitals and educational institutes in DG Khan including Ghazi Hospital, Ghazi University and Danish Schools.
