QUETTA - Five people including a senior lawyer and a police official were shot dead while two others wounded in separate incidents of violence in provincial capital and other towns of Balochistan Thursday. According to police, Vilayat Hussian Advocate was on his way to home at Kasi Road Quetta within the jurisdiction of City police station when unidentified people opened firing at him. Resultantly, he received critical wounds and succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The assailants managed to flee after committing the crime. On being informed, police reached the site and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy. Police said that motive behind the killing yet to be ascertained. However, it can also be an incident of target killing. Police have registered a case against unknown assailants and started investigations. In another incident, unidentified armed men killed a couple and wounded two others in Jhal Magsi. Sources said that, unknown armed men barged into a house owned by Deedar Hussain in Goth Barijar and sprayed bullets on inmates with automatic weapons which resulted in on the spot death of Deedar Hussain and his wife. The mother and sister of Deedar Hussain also sustained critical wounds in the attack. The attackers escaped from the site soon after committing the crime. Police shifted deceased and injured to hospital and termed it an incident of old enmity. As per reports reaching here, unidentified assailants shot dead Assistant Sub Inspector Jahangir in Kalat district and escaped from the site after committing crime. Sources said that deceased had gone to Kalat to attend a marriage ceremony when he was attacked. Motive behind the killing was stated to be an old enmity. Meanwhile, armed bandits shot dead a person in Satellite town Quetta. Police said, Umar Khan resident of Satellite town was riding on a motorbike when robbers attempted to snatch his motorbike. On offering resistance, they opened indiscrimination firing on him and took away his motorbike.
