Our Staff Reporter HAFIZABAD - Sukheke Police have arrested a man and seized heavy firearms and ammunition which he was bringing from tribal area for sale in Sahiwal, DPO Abdul Rab Ch told the local newsmen here Friday. Addressing a press conference, the DPO said that the police headed by SHO Malik Arif Hussain intercepted a suspected car near Sukheke and during search recovered seven pump action, two pistols, five rifles, one tomygun, 2 Kalashnikovs and eight thousand and five hundred rounds of ammunition which the accused had hidden under the seats of the vehicle. The police have arrested Mehrab Gull of Darra Khyber and have impounded car LOW-5414. The DPO said the district police had intensified patrolling on different highways to roundup anti-social elements to bring down crimes in the area. He announced cash reward of Rs50,000 to SHO Sukheke Malik Arif Hussain. DPO Abdul Rab further stated that the police in the district had arrested 316 POs, two notorious bike and car snatchers Ehsan Ullah and Sikandar and had recovered nine motorcycles, two cars and one truck cell phones and twenty-five cattle heads, three Kalashnikovs, four carbines, nine riffles, four shotguns and 260 rounds of ammunition from them during this month. Moreover ninety-seven drug peddlers were rounded up and 210 litters of liquor, 6,520-gm chars, 4,110-gm heroin and 140-gm opium from them, the DPO added. He said that he directed all the SHOs in the district to launch crackdowns against drug peddlers and criminals.
