LAHORE - The All Pakistan Muslim League celebrated its first foundation day in the provincial metropolis on Friday. Former strongman, Pervez Musharraf founded the APML on October 1, 2010 at London. On this occasion, film artist, Musarat Shaheen announced joining the APML. The function activities were steered by APML senior leader Fawad Chaudhary, while Naeem Tahir, Shahida Naseer, Saad, Waris, Hafiz Ghulam Mohiyoddin and scores of Musharraf loyalists were also present on this occasion. Speakers on this occasion said that the recent All Parties Conference has given the masses increased POL prices, while Musharraf hasnt let any interest group to increase the prices. He said that the incumbent rulers have failed the country at external and internal fronts and pushed the motherland to extreme poverty, adding that Musharraf was the only person who could pull the country of the existing crises. They said that Musharraf has recognition at international as well as regional level, as he was known by many citizens of the international community due to his balanced policies and sane approach to several issues. Meanwhile, according to APML spokesman, two activists of APMLs youth wing, Mubashar Ahmed and Abdullah Sardar were detained by the police for trying to hang the banners of Musharraf at a corner of Kalima Chowk. Musharraf followers in the leadership of Fawad Chaudhary held a protest demonstration at main Garden Town Road for the release of the activists of youth wing, while the protest blocked the traffic for sometime. APML activists on the assurance of police officials regarding the release of their two workers dispersed, while both of their activists were released after sometime. However, the police officials concerned when contacted denied the arrest of APML activists. APML leaders and workers prayed for the victims of the dengue virus and also for the early recovery of the patients undergoing treatment.
