PFF praised for holding women soccer tourney

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Football Federation must be given the due credit for organizing the 7th National Women Football Championship in a befitting manner with defending champions Young Rising Stars Women Football Club defended their title successfully after edging out Diya Club, Karachi in a tense final. PFF had done excellent arrangements; the staff at PSB provided maximum support to PFF in organizing such a successful event. There was complete coordination between the PFF and PSB officials during the event. Journalists were provided excellent facilities and a huge crowd was witnessed including near about 3,000 young girls and families supported both the teams and the players do not disappoint the large crowd with their superb performances. Syed Mahpara, who also won the best goalie of the tournament award, remained outstanding, and she was the player of the final after making numerous saves, had Mahpara was not in Young Rising goal, Diya Club could have easily won the match with at least three goals margin. But to every ones surprise Malika Noor the highest scorer of the tournament with 23 goals, including one in the final on a neatly taken plenty was not awarded the tournaments best player trophy and that award went to Hajra Khan of Diya Club. Hajra played outstanding in the final and she could have won single-handedly tournament for her team had other players supported her. The standard of refereeing was quite satisfactory in the tournament as no team lodge any refereeing complaint. The media wing of Pakistan Football Federation also done a satisfactory job in providing journalists and others timely information. Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, President Pakistan Football Federation must be given the credit for organizing this tournament and also awarding reasonable cash prizes to the participating teams and other related officials. As no one in the past had provided this amount of cash awards to the girls specially. By holding this tournament in such a fashion PFF has given a clear message to rest of the world that Pakistan is completely safe for all kinds of sporting activities and with the active participation of such mammoth crowds is a very encouraging sign for other sports women too. Meanwhile, Young Rising Star clubs players have praised the efforts of their coach and managing after retaining the title.
